What is solar panel pigeon proofing?
Solar panel pigeon proofing is the installation of a durable, discreet UV-resistant mesh barrier around the perimeter of solar panels to prevent pigeons, possums and other birds nesting underneath. The meshing is securely clipped into place staying well within the guidelines of the solar panels warranty agreement. This protects your solar system, roof, health and property from bird-related damages.

How long does the solar pigeon proofing mesh last?
Our branded and manufactured solar panel pigeon proofing is designed to last 10-20+ years since we use PVC coated mesh. High-quality mesh is UV-resistant, corrosion proof steel/plastic mesh and fixings that withstand the Australian sun, wind, rain and temperature changes without degrading.

Will pigeons still sit on my roof after pigeon proofing is installed?
Occasionally for the first 1-3 months after the installation of the pigeon proofing, but they will not stay. Pigeons are attracted to nesting locations not open roof space. Once access under the panels is blocked off, they will eventually move on for good.

How does the mesh stop birds from getting onto my roof?
The mesh seals the entire perimeter gap beneath your solar panels, removing the sheltered entry point pigeons rely on. Birds may still land on your roof, but without the access to their protected place under the panels, they cannot nest, roost, or stay.

Can pigeons or possums break or push through the mesh?
No. Our mesh is too strong, rigid, and tightly fastened. Pigeons cannot chew, bend, or force their way through properly installed systems.

Can pigeon proofing be removed if needed?
Yes. While designed to be permanent, our solar pigeon proofing can be removed or adjusted if future solar maintenance or upgrades are required.

Will pigeons eventually go away on their own?
Once they get under the system, it's pretty much a wrap. Over time they make their nests, build up their scent on the roof, it's the same as moving into a home. They're comfortable there and are away from their natural predators. If pigeons under your solar panels are left alone they will eventually make larger nests, more droppings, stronger odours, reduce your solar systems efficiency even more which will only lead to even more expensive repair and cleaning costs.

Will your pigeon proofing make my home look ugly?
No. The mesh is slim, discreet, and colour matched (usually black) to blend in with your solar panels. From the ground, it is generally not noticeable.
